This recipe looks amazing. My sister-in-law sent it to me and said it is so good! Guess who is going to making all kinds of new things this week? Me!
Outback's Aussie Onion Soup Recipe
8 cups water
8 beef bouillion cubes
3 medium white onions
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
3/4 cup white flour
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Heat the water to boiling in a large pot. Add the bouillion cubes to dissolve. Cut onions in half and then into thin slices. Add to the pot of water. Add salt and pepper. Bring mixture back to boiling, then turn heat down and simmer for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, slowly sift in the flour, and stir continuously. Keep stirring to remove lumps. Then let it simmer for 30 minutes more. Stir every so often and soon the rest of the flour should dissolve. Next, add the heavy cream and the cheese. Cook 5 more minutes. Serve soup with bread and top with some cheese.
